Shoot closeups of smiles. Get close to the person or people so they can be recognized in the post and ask them to smile! Half of Facebook users are on smartphones, and they can’t see who’s in the photo if the person is too small in the frame.
Shoot small groups of 2-3. It’s easier to get a few people to rally together and smile than a roomful of people. It also easier to recognize people if they are bigger in the photo.
Shoot with the brightest light in the room ON the subject not behind them. Don’t shoot towards bright light or windows or your the people will end up in shadows.
Include names in captions whenever possible when uploading. This will help friends and family follow their loved ones, and us to build our community.
Highlight the smile first, the event second. It’s great include things like birthday cake or finished craft project, but keep the focus on the people having fun, experiencing joy, companionship, or compassionate care.
